Snow City(雪城) is Singapore's first permanent indoor snow centre. Being a tropical country, many Singaporeans have never had the opportunity to experience the cold (the lowest temperature ever recorded in Singapore was way back in 1934, when it hit a low of 19.4°C). Everyone has the option of escaping rom the hot and humid Singapore and experience a 'winter getaway', right here at our very own doorstep.

The snow-covered slope extends the entire length of Snow City, rising from ground level to almost three storeys high where you do snowtubing, ski and snowboard. There is a snow play area, snowball fights and an igloo.

This snow destination is popular among Singaporean's, particularly those learning how to ski or snowboard before they embark on overseas ski resort holidays.

Key facilities at Snow City include the Snow Chamber, function rooms, photo studio, Hot Chocolate Bar, Ice Bar and Snowon, a seafood restaurant. Snow City offers skiing and snow boarding lessons, Sub-Zero Disco Parties, and a variety of special events throughout the year. It also serves as a wedding venue for couples looking for a truly white wedding.

Snow City also provides education programmes in partnership with Science Centre Singapore that centre on scientific concepts relating to low temperatures. Focus areas include cryogenic science such as liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen. These programmes are tailored for a variety of audiences and provide an experience that cannot be duplicated in ordinary classrooms.

Set up by NTUC Income Cooperative Pte Ltd and Singapore Science Centre (a S$6 million venture), together, they have jointly established Snow Venture Pte Ltd to be the managing company of Snow City. Snow City also introduces the concept of snow and cold climates in an entertaining and educational way. Snow City is maintained at minus 5 degree Celsius to provide an authentic winter experience for all visitors.

Snow City was originally launched in 2001 and has been regularly attracting visitors with its unique winter wonderland concept. In October 2007 snow city revamped its facilities particularly the snow chamber area and is set to exceed its visitorship of 135,000 that passed through its doors last year.

There are Sub Zero Team Building Programme, please check out their website for more information.
