Located at the Police Headquarters in the New Phoenix Park, the Police Heritage Centre (PHC) is a 660 sq-m multifarious showcase of captivating exhibits and myriad multimedia and audiovisual displays that endeavour to recreate the genesis and development of the SPF since the 1800s.It seeks to provide visitors with a better perspective of the rule of law, the interplay of justice and corrupt-free governance, as well as the importance of trust and rapport between the people and the Police.
Tours: Tours are recommended for children 12 years old and above. A complete tour of the centre takes about one and a half hours.
History: Spread over an area of 660 square metres, the Centre will provide visitors with multi-dimensional displays that endeavour to recreate vividly the past and present days of policing in Singapore.
In late Jan 01, exhibition consultant Pico Art International, was appointed to provide professional expertise and advice on the most appropriate techniques to convey SPF's history to the public effectively. Following that, in Feb 01, a Steering Committee headed by Dir Special Duties/Public Affairs was formed to oversee the project.
The Police Heritage Centre opens to visitors in August 2002.
