Drop by Woodlands Town Garden and enjoy the greenery and ambience the 12 ha park has to offer. Look out for the design of the park amenities that have both Malay and Chinese elements. The lake (picture left) was created from the river, Sungei Mandai Kecil, that flows through the park. Wide varieties of flora and fauna.

Facilities includes an amphitheatre, pond, playground, restroom / toilets with or without shower facilities and shelters. Children will have loads of fun sliding down a 'mousedeer', climbing a tiger and clearing other obstacles.

History: "Woodlands", located on the northernmost part of Singapore, is possibly derived from the rubber trees that flourished in plantations there, resembling woods. When Singapore was established as a trading port in 1823, Woodlands connected the Malayan Peninsular to the natural port in Singapore, and historically connecting the two states in 1924 via the Johor-Singapore Causeway.

Woodlands MRT station opened in 1996, also the first underground bus interchange was opened beneath the Woodlands MRT station. Causeway Point Shopping Centre was built in 1999.

The Woodlands Town Garden, built in 1983 by the HDB. This parks's beauty is enhanced by the presence of a lake, freely-shaped pools, small bridges, seven Chinese pavilions and six Malay huts on stilts. It won the SIA 1986 Architectural Design Award for its beautifully-designed roofs.

Alight at Marsiling MRT station and take buses 856 (from Yishun Interchange) or 950 from the opposite side of the road. Alight at the second bus-stop. Or you can walk from the MRT station to the Garden.
